  • How much of the POLYWOOD® plastic lumber is recycled? Over 90% of POLYWOOD plastic lumber is made from HDPE post industrial material or post-consumer bottle waste, such as detergent and milk bottles.

  • What is HDPE? HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene which is an exceptionally durable plastic that has infinite recyclability.

  • Is the POLYWOOD® color only on the surface? No. Color in POLYWOOD lumber will run all the way through.

  • How much do POLYWOOD® Chairs weigh? On average, POLYWOOD chairs weigh 30-50 lbs each, which is similar to that of a hardwood chair. Therefore, even in strong winds, your chair will not blow away.

  • Does it contain wood or natural fibers? No, all POLYWOOD products are made from HDPE, which does not contain wood or any natural fibers.

  • Is it UV protected? All POLYWOOD lumber contains UV-inhibited pigment systems. This will greatly reduce fading.

  • Can it be painted? Due to the durable nature of POLYWOOD material, it will not need to be stained, sealed or painted.

  • Can it be sanded? Minor scratches can be handled with light sanding; however POLYWOOD should not be completely resurfaced.

  • How do I clean POLYWOOD®? Simply wash your POLYWOOD furniture with soap and water. For deep cleaning, we recommend using a solution of 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water. You can also use this solution or a readily available anti fungal product for removing fungi. Read more...

  • Can POLYWOOD® be power washed? For regular maintenance, we recommend a high-pressure power washer. This will help keep your POLYWOOD furniture looking new; however pressure should not exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent to a car wash. In order to get into the creases, you may need to use a soft bristle brush.

  • What is the hardware made from? POLYWOOD uses genuine stainless steel hardware for optimal performance and longevity. .

  • Is assembly required? Minimum assembly is required with POLYWOOD furniture. There are some pieces that unfold straight out of the box with no assembly needed! The POLYWOOD furniture that does require assembly typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. All furniture comes standard with basic tools and simple instructions.

  • What are the POLYWOOD Cushions made out of? POLYWOOD cushions are made from Sunbrella fabrics. This fabric is best for year round performance in outdoor settings.

  • What is Plastique®? Plastique® offers the richness and warmth of natural wood. It also delivers all-weather performance. Plastique® can be cleaned by gently washing with soap and water.
